These messages are transmitted from a nerve to the muscle by a substance called acetylcholine. When too much acetylcholine is released, muscles become overly active and spasm or tense up. To counter this very small amounts of Botox are injected into the required areas using a tiny micro needle. This acts by blocking the impulse from the nerve to the muscles, which are related to the lines and wrinkles. The muscle simply relaxes or ' goes to sleep. This relaxation enables the skin to relax and heal as the lines smooth away.
